About

Scott Chalmers is a versatile photographer with a passion for all things rock and metal. He has photographed hundreds of bands in and around the South of England, and works in the fields of fashion, burlesque, music, vintage, pin-up, latex and cabaret photography. His work is full of dramatic lighting, unusual angles, beautiful moments and, most importantly, attitude.

Originally trained in architecture, Scott has developed his love of the visual and combined it with his passion for music to come into the world of live music photography with more than a little experience. Influenced by such photographers as David LaChapelle, Cindy Frey, Marianne Harris and Mark Holloway, Scott brings his own twist, quite literally at times, to his photoshoots, using fisheye and strobist techniques to get the all-important winning shot.

His images appear regularly in numerous online and printed publications including Devolution Magazine, Metal Hammer, Kerrang and Bizarre to name but a few.

Scott has a mobile studio, which he takes to many and varied locations, from dingy car parks to plush pads, always taking the time to ensure his subjects get the look, and mood they are after. He also has a studio at home in Hythe, near Southampton, with a wide range of backdrops, props and lighting effects on hand.

His portfolio of work includes fashion photography for latex designers, Jane Doe Latex, and Rubber Monkey, band promos for dozens of bands from The Defiled to Pythia, and The Mediaeval Baebes to My Ruin, burlesque promos for Vicky Butterfly, Anna Fur Laxis and Missy Fatale, along with promos for cabaret stars from Joe Black to Marnie Scarlett. His client list grows weekly, with people traveling the length of the country to work with him.
